A non-profit rescue located in beautiful Southern Maryland. We are a
small to med sized family run rescue. We have a strong volunteer base
and are greatly supported by our community. We rescue
slaughterbound, nursemare foals and PMU horses. Many of these
horses have been drafts and draft crosses. At this time we have a 21
day old Percheron/TB cross orphan foal along with his buddy a TB Paint
67 day old orphan foal in our care. We love the drafts and will be
increasing our rescue load as the PMU foals begin weaning in the late
summer and fall many of our foals will be drafts and draft crosses. Our
Lords Gentle giants are always welcome at Freedom Hill !

A Yahoo group formed to bring all New England horse rescue people
together, with those who can provide good homes, to create the best
network possible. We help local rescues, raise money, locate homes,
help with transportation, and discuss all topics pertaining to equines.
We work with all phases of horses in trouble, but especially with those
in danger of going to slaughter. We invite all to join in an attempt to
close the gap between horses in danger and a clean stall! :)
